Do you think that you’re not being heard? That no one is listening to your point of view? Become an ambassador for us and you’ll be able to share your views with influential decision makers in the city and instigate positive change.
In order to shape the future, we need those who are going to be the future. And that’s you.
By becoming one of our ambassadors you will be representing the young Muslim community, whose opinions, views and ideas are essential for building a cohesive, inclusive society in Leeds.
You’ll be involved in organising events with your team, receive training on our youth leadership course, run media and activity-based projects, and in the process become a confident, upstanding young leader and influential member of your local community.
We want young people who aspire to:
1: Addressing social inequalities.
2: Being the young leaders, thinkers, speakers and visionaries of tomorrow.
3: Motivating others and taking a positive role in the community.
4: Addressing issues affecting young people and young Muslims in the community.
5: Becoming the ‘Voice of Muslim Youth’.
If you can answer ‘Yes’ to any of these questions we want to hear from you;
1: I want my voice, and the voices of my friends to be heard.
2: I want to change my community for the better.
3: I want to influence decisions that affect me and my friends.
4: I am aged between 18 and 25.
5: I can listen to, and consider different views.
6: I have an interest in lobbying and campaigning for change.
7: I am able to challenge stereotypical views in a constructive manner.
8: I am creative and have the drive to take new ideas forward.
We are currently recruiting the next group of ambassadors and all applications will be reviewed by a panel of LMYF ambassadors.
Good luck. And remember – you are the future.
